Acrylic wall panels (also called crystal advertising boards or standoff signage) look modern and high-end, so they’re widely used in tile stores, showrooms, and offices to display price lists, brand stories, certificates, or promotional posters. After a while, the content becomes outdated, and many people think replacing the inner paper is difficult. In fact, it only takes 3–5 minutes once you know the trick. Follow these simple steps:
Prepare the New Insert in Advance
Carefully measure the inner dimensions of your acrylic panel (usually a few millimetres smaller than the outer size because of the edge seal). Print or cut the new paper to the exact size. It’s best to use 200–300 gsm coated paper or photo paper so it stays flat and doesn’t wrinkle.
Remove the Standoff Screws (Advertising Nails)
Acrylic panels are fixed to the wall with four (or more) decorative stainless-steel standoffs. Common sizes are 12 mm, 16 mm, 19 mm, or 25 mm in diameter.
Turn each cap counterclockwise by hand.
If it’s too tight, wrap a soft cloth or wear cotton gloves to increase friction—never use pliers directly, or you’ll scratch the chrome finish.
Important: support the acrylic panel with your other hand while removing the last screw to prevent it from falling and breaking.
Take Out the Old Paper and Insert the New One
After removing the panel from the wall, gently separate the front and back acrylic sheets (some are held by edge strips, others are simply sandwiched).
Remove the old insert, clean any dust with a soft cloth (never use alcohol on the acrylic surface), then slide in the new paper. Make sure it lies perfectly flat, with edges parallel to the panel—no tilting or air bubbles.
Reinstall the Panel
Simply reverse the removal steps: put the panel back against the wall, insert the screws through the corner holes, and hand-tighten the decorative caps clockwise. Tighten them evenly in a cross pattern (top-left → bottom-right → top-right → bottom-left) so the panel stays level.
That’s it! The whole process is completely tool-free and can be done by anyone. Change your promotions, prices, or certificates anytime you want—keep your tile store looking fresh and professional without spending extra money.
